Marc is a young man with aspirations to be a quantum physicist but survives as an auto-mechanic. He has no higher education and lives a meager life in the inner-city. His goals are clouded by self-doubt and a rocky relationship with his girlfriend, Rachel. Their volatile romantic relationship stems from Rachel’s mother, Grace. The pairing is not ideal in Grace’s eyes— He is a blue-collar African American man and she is an upper middle-class Asian American woman. As Grace’s prejudices are confronted, Marc’s quantum ideas may be the only thing to save his crumbling relationship.
